At the 14th Conference of the International Mesothelioma Interest Group (iMig) in Ottawa, Canada, this May, mesothelioma research was presented in a number of plenary sessions and dozens of mini-symposiums. Exciting Nivolumab Phase III Clinical Trial Recruiting Now
The most exciting developments in mesothelioma treatment right now are immunotherapy drugs such as nivolumab (also known by its brand name Opdivo) and ipilimumab (also sold as Yervoy). A mesothelioma clinical trial underway now will study the effectiveness of a combination of nivolumab and Ipilimumab as first line treatments for non-operable pleural mesothelioma. A mesothelioma diagnosis is never good news. But one family in Northern California turned their misfortune into a way to help other mesothelioma patients find better treatments.
